Message Folks,

I've taken over as lead maintainer of the Current project. Hunter is
still on board and we are working together, but I will be spearheading
the operation. As nornal, the page at

and this email list is the place to be for Q&A.
dev at current dot tigris dot org for development.

To celebrate this joyful occasion I have released Current version
1.5.6. You can find the downloads from the website above. What's new
you might ask? The database backend as been almost completely
reworked. Yes, the schema has changed. You'll need to recreate your
current database. At this point in time ONLY Postgresql is supported.
I think pySQLite is next. Also there is the very beginings of
transaction support which needs to be touched up. At this point in
time, transactions will rollback the database if a write operation
blows up. The database supports deletes now too.

Apart from databases I've started to create a exception based error
handling mechanism. Any error condiction should raise the proper
subclass of CurrentException. The up2date API has changed little over
the past year. I think there's a new API bit in 4.2 during initial
registration that I haven't chased down and the throbber seems hosed.

Enjoy!
