Message Hello I've been trying to register RHEL 2.1 AS client against current server ( based on RHEL 3.0 ,version 1.4.4) . The section for channel looks as follow:

[redhat-advanced-server-i386]
name = Red Hat Linux 2.1 AS
parent_channel =
arch = i386
os_release = 2.1 AS
description = Red Hat Linux 2.1 AS
srpm_check = 0
rpm_dirs =/home/pub/redhat/linux/RHEL/2.1-upd3/as/upd3/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS
src_dirs =

          When I run rhn_register --nox command for example I do get welcome message and after filling up all user's data within sufficient timeout get follow error:

Traceback (innermost last):
  File "/usr/sbin/rhn_register", line 233, in ?
    main()
  File "/usr/sbin/rhn_register", line 214, in main
    tui.main()
  File "/usr/share/rhn/register/tui.py", line 1042, in main
    tui.run()
  File "/usr/share/rhn/register/tui.py", line 986, in run
    win = self.windows[index](self.screen, self)
  File "/usr/share/rhn/register/tui.py", line 567, in __init__
    tui.hardware = hardware.Hardware()
  File "/usr/share/rhn/register/hardware.py", line 374, in Hardware
    ret = read_network()
  File "/usr/share/rhn/register/hardware.py", line 296, in read_network
    hostname, ipaddr = findHostByRoute()
  File "/usr/share/rhn/register/hardware.py", line 273, in findHostByRoute
    s.connect((server, 80))
socket.error: (110, 'Connection timed out')

    And by the way if it is necessary that client machine should be registered against RH standing form licensing point ?
   I'll appreciate your help on mentioned issue . Thanks .

  Yours ,
                Vlad Berezovski .
