Yea, its really weird. The scan completes successfully most of the
time, but when I go to download anything from a client, it fails
miserably...

I've definitely done scans to update channels with some fairly large
channels. I am not able to reproduce bad symlinks.

Now, if only createrepo didn't take 5 years to run...
