Message hi,

I subscribed to the mailinglist (bit easier to communicate). Attached
you will find a small patch which makes it easier to build current on
FreeBSD. Yes, I did use autoconf (not automake) for it. It's not very
intrusive (I think).

The autoconf macro I used for Python I shamelesly borrowed from:

http://sources.redhat.com/ml/autoconf/2001-05/msg00182.html

I know autoconf can be a problem sometimes (the autoconf distribution
does not have that many macros by default for checking for things I want
to check for).

I patched against 1.5.5rc1, not the CVS version (so that might be a
problem). I'd appreciate very much if you'd take some time to review it
and consider applying it...

thanks,

armijn
