Message I installed current-1.5.4 on redhat 8.0 machine. Here are some comments:

current.conf shows information of database username and password so it
should be protected.

Directory where it is should be protected to apache user only. I'd
change /etc/current directory in rpm to mode 0700 owner apache for security.

up2date work on my server machine but on client machine I get:

p2date -u

Any idea what's the problem? I even cleaned up all up2date related
stuff, installed up2date again and same problem exists.

Both server and client are rh8.0.

Attached is current.log for same run.
