Well well well, that fixed it. I also un-down-graded mod_python and it still
works. Thanks Joy!

Guys,

I have seen this before when I was testing my RH3ES up2date client against
1.4.4 on RH3ES Server.

As suggested in the previous posting, I edited the /etc/mime.types file on
the current server(1.4.4) on RH3ES and made the following changes:

1. Add 'rpm' and 'hdr' to 'application/octet-stream' like so:

application/octet-stream bin dms lha lzh exe class so dll rpm hdr

2. Comment out the 'rpm' line:

   # This conflicts with audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin, which is commented out
below.
   #application/x-rpm rpm

Restart current and try connecting again.

I am having the same problems. I took your advice and down-graded mod_python
to what is shipped in RH9 (on both the server and client), but I still get
the same errors when running up2date from the client:

It was a problem in the 3.0.0 (not really 3.0, but a sort of patched
snapshot) that was in RHL 8.

My suspicion is that its a regress, either in redhats mod_python or
mod_python itself.

But you would be the first to prove it, since I don't have RHEL
available here. (I'm gonna test with WBEL this weekend...)
