Message Folks,

Just wanted to let you guys know what's on the plate for 1.7. I've
already started hacking on a few random things. You'll notice that
there is code in the subversion tree to do session management, an new
apache handler to do web pages (just enough to run a few tests with
the session code right now), and that cadmin is going through a major
over haul.

My plan for 1.7.1 is to get cadmin into shape under the new modular idea.

I would like to invite comments on the following... :-)

*) cadmin is designed to work seprately from Current, even on a
different machine. Should the functionality of cinstall be combined
with cadmin? Cadmin should also be a generic text interface to all
the functionality of Current, including functionality done through the
future web interface.

*) The Plan for the next stable 1.8.0:
   Cadmin work
Basic web interface -- how many clients, hardware info, channels,
rpms in channels
   User authentication

*) There are some notes in the TODO about differences between how RHN
does the encodings on some of the XMLRPC stuff versus Current. If I
upgrade that may break some older (probably really older) up2date
clients. Not sure if I want to support both methods. Would be nice
to know where it breaks.

*) Although users in Current 1.7 will probably be "all users have
access to do stuff" its definately time to start brain storming about
how to manage users and access permissions.

Just wanted to let you folks know what's on my mind for 1.7...
